iRacing Off-Road Championship Series Race Preview: Wild Horse Pass

The inaugural iRacing Off-Road Championship Series season continues on Wednesday night with its first visit to Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park. As always, the action can be seen live at 8:30PM ET on twitch.tv/iracing with the All-Star race, followed by 24 sim racing pros doing battle for $25,000 at 9PM ET.

Last Race: Team General Tire teammates Cam Pedersen and Connor Barry swept the first two races of the year at Crandon International Raceway, with Pedersen holding off Josh Edmundson throughout the first race and Barry making a last-corner pass on Keaton Swane for the second before traveling to the real-world track and competing in last weekend’s Brush Run. Barry’s pair of top-five finishes gave him a four-point lead coming into the second event.

All-Stars: Pro Buggy driver Zachary Drapkin swept both All-Star events at Crandon, leading a mix of real-world and iRacing crossover drivers to the finish as the field utilized Pro 4s in the opener. Other drivers to score podium finishes included professional UTV racer Eliott Watson and eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series drivers Blake Reynolds and Parker Retzlaff. This week’s All-Stars action will feature the Pro 2 Lite in its first of three events this year.

Track Info: Arizona’s Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park is the shortest track on the iRacing Off-Road schedule, and was one of the first two tracks to debut when iRacing introduced short course racing in 2019. It was a longtime staple of the west coast short course racing calendar over the past decade, challenging drivers with tight corners and tricky whoop sections. The multi-purpose facility also hosts NHRA and Nitro Rallycross events, and its road course was a longtime host of IndyCar preseason testing—including Ayrton Senna’s lone IndyCar test in 1992.

The iRacing Off-Road Championship Series is supported by CBR Performance Products, Vision Wheel, and Big Green Egg. For more information on iRacing and for special offers, visit www.iracing.com.
