Racer Profile: The Sourapas Brothers

Being born into off-road racing culture, twins Christian and Brett Sourapas certainly have the “Go Fast” gene, likely inherited from their father and off-road champion Steve Sourapas. Christian and Brett, grew up in the pits of off-road races watching their father race. The weekends they weren’t racing they spent going to the Gordon’s Well Sand Dunes in Imperial County, CA, a meca for off-road recreation action. They both began riding quads at a young age, and soon competing in trophy karts.  As they began racing against each other on the dirt courses, there was an instant competitive spirit between the two. The young brothers soon moved up to the Trophy Lite Class where they learned the basics of desert off-road racing under the tutelage of their father Steve. The following year they moved up to the 6100 Trophy Truck Spec Class where the brothers would soon prove to the world that they could compete at the highest level. After some big wins including Parker 425, Vegas to Reno, and The Mint 400 the brothers finished 2015 by winning the Best in The Desert Points championship proving that they could not only win, but win consistently. Over the next few years Brett and Christian moved up to the Trophy Truck class racing with other teams as well as their own vehicles, getting seat time in the highest level of off-road racing. The brothers managed to win the Laughlin Desert Classic, and The Parker 425 overall proving again they could not only compete, but win at the highest level.

After spending thousands of miles ripping Polaris RZR’s in the desert The brothers fell in love with the UTV platform and decided to build a custom game changing UTV equipped with all Fortin Racing components. The “Orion” UTV will make its debut at the upcoming UTV World Championship.

Their father,  proud to watch both Christain and Brett continue to make huge strides in professional off-road racing, runs their team overseeing their race career.  With plans to race both in UTV’s and Trophy Trucks in the US and Baja the Sourapas Brothers certainly have a very bright future ahead.
