iRacing Off-Road Championship Series Race Preview: Crandon 2

The inaugural iRacing Off-Road Championship Series season wraps up on Wednesday night as the series returns to Crandon International Raceway for its season finale, presented by Vision Wheel. As always, the action can be seen live at 8:30PM ET on twitch.tv/iracing with the All-Star race, followed by 24 sim racing pros doing battle for $25,000 in Pro 4 trucks at 9PM ET.

Last Race: Felix Roy of Jim Beaver Esports and Killian Dall’olmo of Altus Esports were victorious in iRacing Off-Road’s second visit to Bark River International Raceway, with Roy pressuring Black Star Racing driver Toni Lahteenmaki early before leading the final seven laps of the first race and Dall’olmo leading the second from flag to flag. Championship leaders Connor Barry of Team General Tire and Keaton Swane of Factory Simsport took top fives in both races, and will enter Crandon separated by just 14 points as they go for the title.

Previous Events: Team General Tire’s Cam Pedersen scored his first of three wins on the season so far in June’s opener at Crandon, getting out front in the land rush start and dominating the first race ahead of Jim Beaver eSports’ Josh Edmundson. The second race, meanwhile, set the stage for the season to come, with Swane and Barry in a no-holds-barred battle to the finish line with Barry coming out on top in the final corner.

All-Stars: The second visit to Bark River saw a new challenger take the fight to real-world off-road racers Luke Knupp and Zachary Drapkin, with Zach Knowles joining the duo on the podium in both races in the final Pro 4 All-Star race of the season. The season concludes at Crandon in the Volkswagen Beetle Lite, where Drapkin won both races to start the season in the Pro 4; Knupp enters the night with a two-point advantage on Drapkin, with eNASCAR veteran Blake Reynolds, fellow off-road pro Eliott Watson, and Traxion.gg’s Keenan “Aero” Kusan completing the top five.

Track Info: Known as “The Big House,” Wisconsin’s Crandon International Raceway is to short course racing what Daytona is to stock cars or Indianapolis is to American open-wheel racing. Every Labor Day weekend for more than 50 years, the track has hosted the World Championship Off-Road Races, and is currently the only track in the Midwest to host two events per season with the Brush Run each June. Numerous iRacing Off-Road pro and All-Star drivers are expected to compete in this year’s World Championship from September 1-4.
