2020 Revised SCORE schedule

ENSENADA, Baja California, Mexico – As the worldwide battle against the Corona Virus (COVID-19) continues to escalate, SCORE International has announced its revised 2020 racing schedule. The three rounds of the revised 2020 SCORE World Desert Championship will be the SCORE Baja 500 (June 17-21), the SCORE San Felipe 250 (Sept.16-20) and the season-ending SCORE Baja 1000 (Nov. 17-22).
“With this lingering world pandemic and following extensive discussions and further analysis with Mexican Federal, State, Municipal authorities along with all of our other significant stakeholders, we have revised our 2020 race schedule, reducing the series to three races,” stated Jose A. Grijalva, SCORE President/Race Director. “Based on the economic impact and in support of our racers, the 2nd SCORE Baja 400 will not take place in 2020 and the SCORE Baja 1000 will move from a point-to-point race to a single loop race.”

34th SCORE SAN FELIPE 250
Being held once again in San Felipe, Baja California, the 34th annual SCORE San Felipe 250 event will include qualifying for the SCORE Trophy Truck, SCORE TT Legend, Class 1 and Trophy Truck Spec classes during the middle of race week. Finishing position in this year’s SCORE San Felipe 250 will determine the starting positions for the SCORE Baja 1000.

53rd SCORE BAJA 1000
This year’s Granddaddy of all Desert Races will be held in Ensenada, having been revised from a point-to-point to a single loop race. Like it is every year, it will be the magnificent season-finale of the SCORE World Desert Championship.
Grijalva added, “SCORE will continue to monitor the current COVID-19 status, recommendations of both the U.S. and Mexico governments and will make any further adjustments as required.”
“The health and safety of our racers, teams, fans and media is of paramount importance to SCORE and we believe these modifications will afford us the opportunity to have another memorable SCORE Baja racing season.
