Augie Renezeder will make his Championship Off-Road (CHAMP) Pro SxS debut Oct. 2–3 at Glen Helen Raceway as the series returns to Southern California for the final two rounds of the 2026 season.

For Renezeder, Glen Helen is already familiar territory.
In February, he made his CORR debut at the legendary Southern California facility, immediately making an impression by qualifying first, setting the fastest lap and winning the Pro SxS race in his first start.

Driving a Polaris Pro R short-course car built by Doug Mittag and M81 Designs, Renezeder returns to Glen Helen with a new challenge: lining up against the national-level CHAMP Pro SxS field.

“I’m super excited for the rest of the year,” said Renezeder. “I really believe we have a good package on both the short-course and desert sides, and now it’s about going out there and putting everything together. I grew up around this style of racing, so getting the opportunity to race CHAMP at Glen Helen and go toe to toe with some of the best in the business is something I’ve really been looking forward to.

We know we can be competitive there, but I also want to learn as much as possible every time I get in the car. These next races are about building results, continuing that momentum into next year and putting ourselves in a position to chase a championship.”

Renezeder carries one of the most recognizable names in short-course off-road racing. His father, Carl Renezeder, built a legendary career spanning decades of professional short-course competition, earning championships and honors at the highest levels of the sport.

Augie grew up immersed in that environment, but his 2026 program has increasingly focused on building his own racing resume across multiple disciplines.

THE DESERT COMES NEXT

Renezeder will have little time to settle in after Glen Helen. Less than two weeks later, he will transition to open desert competition at the Best In The Desert Laughlin Desert Classic, Oct. 15–18, as part of the American Off-Road Racing Championship.

Renezeder will pilot his Factory Racing Polaris RZR Pro R desert car backed by LIQUI MOLY.

Earlier this year, he made his first appearance in the Factory Racing Polaris RZR Pro R at the 2026 NORRA Mexican 1000, finishing second in the Evolution Pro SXS division after six days of competition. He shared the Baja effort with his father, Carl Renezeder, and off-road racing veteran Rob MacCachren.

BAJA 1000 PARTNERSHIP WITH WAYNE MATLOCK

Renezeder’s 2026 season will continue into November when he shares driving duties with veteran Wayne Matlock aboard Matlock Racing’s No. 1871 Factory Racing Polaris RZR Pro R in Pro UTV Open at the SCORE Baja 1000.

Matlock brings extensive SCORE experience, including the 2018 SCORE Baja 1000 Pro UTV victory and SCORE Overall season championship. Most recently, he captured the 2026 SCORE Baja 400 UTV Overall and Pro UTV Open victories in the No. 1871, along with the $50,000 Polaris SCORE Challenge.

For Renezeder, the partnership provides another opportunity to gain seat time while learning alongside one of the sport’s most accomplished UTV competitors.

SHORT COURSE CLOSES OUT 2026

Renezeder will return to short course Nov. 20–22 when CORR opens its 2026–27 season at Firebird Motorsports Park in Chandler, Arizona.

The opening doubleheader will give him another opportunity to build on his early success at Glen Helen while continuing to develop the M81 Designs short-course program with an eye toward the 2027 season.

With a 2026 schedule spanning short course, Baja rally competition and desert racing, Renezeder’s final months of the season will be about more than individual results. They are about gaining experience, building momentum and establishing the foundation for what comes next.
