Karlastad, 15 June 2024 – Two podium places out of three for Pirelli at the Bauhaus Royal Rally Scandinavia, in which Oliver Solberg took his first win of the season in the FIA ERC European Championship, dominating the race in his Skoda Fabia RS Rally2. In third place, to which he slipped in the Power Statge after having been second for a long time, another driver who has always been linked to Pirelli, namely the reigning continental champion Ayden Paddon in a Hyundai i20, who gave the young Swede a hard time on Friday, only to be distanced in Saturday’s practice. The turning point in the battle between the New Zealander and the home driver – who repeated last year’s challenge, also won by Solberg – was SS7, run in the rain, and SS8, during which the Swede first lost ground and then regained it.

Tyres for the car of the winner and the other Pirelli drivers were the Scorpion gravel range in K8A (supersoft), K6A (soft) and K6B (medium) versions, of which the latter was practically the only choice for the crews on Pirelli tyres.

“The Scandinavian Rally confirmed that it is a highly spectacular and challenging race,”commented Terenzio Testoni, Pirelli Rally Activity Manager. “Congratulations to Oliver and Hayden who were able to make the most of the characteristics of our Scorpions. What made the difference was the soft K6A which, thanks to its versatility and versatility, ensured grip on both dry and wet surfaces, allowing our two drivers to extend their lead over their competitors”.
