If you don’t know who Robby Woods is, you're about to. This is the first of several new builds that will melt your mind! A self-made racer and prolific short course race car builder Robby is one of the few people in off-road culture who can concept a vehicle or product, design it in CAD, and build it with his own two hands from start to finish.
What I really love about Robby Woods's builds is his attention to aesthetics. Most after-market products don’t look like they belong on the vehicle, but Robby painstakingly makes his product match the body style and geometric shape of the truck, so the exhaust, bumpers, and bodywork all look like they belong on the original truck. The custom billet bed supports look more like something that belongs on an aircraft than a truck. A theme that you will see re-occur in his builds.
The spare tire carrier sits in the center of the bed nice and low so it doesn’t interfere with the bed line of the truck or cause more unnecessary wind drag. Rear-facing KC Highlites are mounted to the bed cage/shock tower along with a 3-ton jack and full-size spare for quick and easy access day or night. The front bumper has 4 KC LED Lights in the front 2 KC fog lights on each side nicely tucked into the open style bumper. The RW logo aluminum skid plate finished off the front of the truck hinting at the durability of the underside of the truck and suspension.
This TRX has a custom 5-link suspension system that gives the TRX 24 inches of travel in the back with a stock gas tank, a feat few builders have achieved… What makes Robbys 5 link unique, is its lower trailing arm is Trophy Truck length, it also uses trophy truck length KING 3.00 Coilover Bypass shocks. This version is built around the stock TRX frame, but a full tube chassis model with a traditional trophy truck 4 link, and J arms up front is also available.
Robby knocked it out of the park with his all-carbon fiber bodywork. He managed to widen the body to allow wheel clearance without ruining the natural body lines of the TRX. The wheel wells are trimmed with clear coated carbon fiber giving the solid hydro blue a defined edge that carries through to the front gill. The custom carbon fiber side vents tuck in eloquently behind the front wheel wells for optimum airflow. The hood scoop and louvered hood vents hint at the upgraded 1000 horsepower with the upgraded SRT Autoworks engine. With Billet Dana 80 /Gearworks Diffs in Robby Woods Custom 4.00 housings, you can put the power to the ground and have no fear of rocky terrain. All that badassness sits on custom Robby Woods Custom Wheels wrapped in 40” BFGoodrich K02s.
