TEAM REAL RACING CLOSES OUT 2026 WITH ANOTHER PODIUM FINISH, MAJOR ENGINEERING BREAKTHROUGH AND STRONG SPONSOR EXPOSURE

Three Consecutive Years of Podium Success, Growing Digital Reach, and a Renewed Commitment to Winning Set the Stage for an Exciting 2027 Season

October 20, 2026 LAUGHLIN, NEVADA — Team Real Racing has officially wrapped up its 2026 off-road racing season with another podium finish at the Laughlin Desert Classic, securing 3rd place in class and 3rd overall in one of the most demanding races of the year.

Led by owner and driver Michael Scafuto, Team Real Racing's Unlimited AWD Trophy Truck program demonstrated remarkable resilience throughout a season filled with mechanical challenges, engineering developments, and significant investment in the team's long-term competitive future.

Despite the obstacles, the team took the starting line at every race, continued delivering exposure and engagement for its sponsors, and celebrated its third consecutive year of podium success.

LAUGHLIN DESERT CLASSIC: A BREAKTHROUGH WEEKEND

The final race of the 2026 season marked a turning point for Team Real Racing. After months of frustrating mechanical issues involving engines, belts, and supporting systems, the team arrived in Laughlin with a significantly improved race truck and renewed confidence.

During the first day of competition, the team intentionally operated at approximately 70% of its competitive pace to validate its recent engineering improvements. The truck performed flawlessly, with no recurring engine, belt, oil pump, or steering pump failures.

On Day 2, the team increased its pace to approximately 80%. Although the brutal terrain eventually caused a CV failure, Team Real Racing completed the required laps and secured its final podium finish of 2026.

"This season tested us in ways I never imagined," said Michael Scafuto, owner and driver of Team Real Racing. "We kept throwing money, parts, and resources at the truck, and at times it seemed like the problems were only getting worse. After Vegas to Reno, I decided we needed to stop guessing and start digging into the actual engineering behind the failures."

The team invested countless hours in testing, dynamometer evaluations, mechanical analysis, and engineering consultations, including assistance from a leading engineer previously involved in Tesla's next-generation Roadster development.

The result was the identification and correction of the underlying belt-system problem that had plagued the team throughout the season.

"Laughlin was the ultimate test," Scafuto continued. "This course is unbelievably punishing, and to finally have our truck perform the way it was designed to perform was a huge victory for everyone involved. We weren't even pushing at 100%, and we still came home with a podium. That tells me we're finally heading in the right direction."

2026 BY THE NUMBERS: PERFORMANCE THROUGH ADVERSITY

Competing against some of the most established and heavily funded programs in professional off-road racing, Team Real Racing finished the season with several notable accomplishments.

3rd Place Overall and 3rd in Class — Laughlin Desert Classic season       finale.
31st Overall in Race Miles Completed — Among 133 entries in the Spec and    Unlimited Truck categories throughout the 2026 season.
Just 4 Miles Behind Brent Fox — An impressive comparison considering Fox's substantially larger, four-truck racing operation.
100% Race Starting Commitment — Team Real Racing took the starting line at  every scheduled race.
Three Consecutive Years of Podium Success — Continuing the team's       competitive development, including two seasons with Falken Tires.
Major Engineering Breakthrough — Resolving recurring belt-system problems and improving overall truck reliability.

For Scafuto, the statistics represent more than finishing positions.

"Anyone can celebrate when everything goes right. What defines a race team is what happens when everything goes wrong," Scafuto said. "We've had plenty of reasons to walk away, but quitting has never been an option. We've invested three years building this program, and I believe we're just getting started."

The organization plans to build on its recent engineering improvements, expand its digital content and sponsor activation programs, and continue pursuing podium finishes in the Unlimited AWD Trophy Truck division.

For Scafuto, the mission remains unchanged: build a reliable, competitive, championship-caliber racing program while delivering exceptional value to the companies that support it.

"We've spent three years building something that we truly believe in," Scafuto concluded.

"We've proven we can run with some of the best drivers in the sport. We've proven we can overcome setbacks that would stop a lot of programs. And now that we're finally getting the truck where it needs to be, I'm more excited about our future than ever."

"To our sponsors, fans, crew, and everyone who has supported Team Real Racing: thank you. The journey hasn't been easy, but the best is still ahead of us. Bring on 2027!"
